For those with nut allergies, a recent recall of lactose-free milk could pose a serious threat. HP Hood LLC issued a recall for certain 96 oz. cartons of milk under the “LACTAID” brand due to potential almond contamination. This could be dangerous or even deadly for individuals with nut allergies.
No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported so far, but it’s crucial to check your milk if you reside in any of the 27 states where the contaminated milk was distributed. The affected products were shipped between Sept. 5 and Sept. 18 to stores in AL, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, VA, WI, and WY.
How to Check If Your Milk is in the Recall
To determine if your milk is part of the recall, check the SKU code on the container. If your milk has the code 51-4109 P2 and “Best By” dates between Nov. 24 to Dec. 1, it is included in the recall. For a detailed breakdown, refer to the chart provided by the FDA.
