Welcome HonorHealth – New Beginnings in Mesa, Tempe, and Florence!
Exciting news in the healthcare industry as HonorHealth takes over the daily operations of medical facilities in Mesa, Tempe, and Florence previously operated by Steward Health Care.
Starting this week, HonorHealth will be responsible for the following facilities:
- Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa
- St. Luke’s Hospital in Tempe
- Steward Mesa Hospital – Emergency Room
- Florence Hospital in Florence
- Multiple outpatient physician practices
HonorHealth’s CEO, Todd LaPorte, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “HonorHealth continues to invest in responsible healthcare development where there is a proven need, and we believe assuming operations of these existing facilities is an effective way to optimize our resources. We’re excited to work with the Steward Health Care professionals to ensure access to high quality, essential care for these communities.”
Earlier this year, Steward Health Care filed for bankruptcy protection, prompting the sale of its facilities nationwide. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced an investigation into Steward’s practices.
Steward also operates Phoenix’s St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center, which recently had its license revoked due to poor conditions observed by state officials.
