Tragedy struck in Phoenix on Friday night as a man lost his life in a hit-and-run incident. The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, leaving the victim behind.
First responders rushed to the intersection of Bethany Home Road and 27th Avenue just before 8:45 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Despite their efforts to save the man’s life, he tragically passed away at the scene.
“The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene before law enforcement arrived,” a statement from the Phoenix Police Department revealed. Detectives are now working diligently to investigate the case.
The road from Bethany Home Road to Rose Lane will remain closed until the investigation is completed, causing disruption and delays in the area.
No further updates are expected for the night, with the department set to release any new information on Saturday morning.
