The scorching heat of the summer in Phoenix has reached new heights, with a record-breaking number of days above 100 degrees. And the heat wave is far from over. The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued an excessive heat warning starting from 10 a.m. on Wednesday until 8 p.m. on Friday.

What to Expect:

This week, temperatures are forecasted to soar above 110 degrees, extending the streak of scorching days. In response to this extreme heat, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning and 12News has declared three Weather Impact Alert Days.

When the Warning is in Effect:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 6 are Weather Impact Alert Days
  • The excessive heat warning will be in effect from 10 a.m. on Wednesday to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Impact on Your Life:

  • Afternoon temperatures are expected to range between 106 and 114 degrees
  • Overexposure to such high temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses like heat cramps, exhaustion, and heat stroke
  • The National Weather Service anticipates a significant increase in heat-related illnesses during this warning period
