During the flood, dark brown water marred the crystal-clear Havasu Creek, but now, the vibrant blue-green hues have made a triumphant return.

Tragically, the flash flood claimed the life of one woman, Chenoa Nickerson, while leaving hundreds stranded. Despite the tragedy, the Arizona National Guard swiftly took action, rescuing over a hundred individuals and assisting in the aftermath of the devastation.

The flood caused significant damage to the trail leading to Supai and the village itself, including common and public areas. The campground, in particular, bore the brunt of the water flow, rendering it unsafe for travel.

Abbie Fink, the spokesperson for the Havasupai Tribe, reassured that tribal members are accounted for and safe, with efforts now focusing on restoring supplies and assessing the extensive damages for repair.

Looking ahead, Fink emphasized the need for thorough evaluation to ensure the safety and stability of the infrastructure, including trails and buildings. While the road to recovery may be long, the Havasupai Tribe remains steadfast in their commitment to restoring their beloved lands.
