Phoenix has recently seen a new wave of support for individuals with cerebral palsy, thanks to the ArizonAbility program overseen by United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. This state-funded grant is being directed towards renovations for a facility that aims to enhance the lives of people living with this condition.

The ArizonAbility program is not just about building adaptive courts and equipment, but also adult care programs that cater to the specific needs of individuals with cerebral palsy. The focus of the renovation is on creating outdoor activities that are accessible to all, ensuring that every client’s experience is enriched.

This renovation marks a significant milestone as the first major construction project on the campus in two decades. Camille Ridley from UCP emphasized the intentional design of the facilities, from the putting green to the greenhouse, all aimed at inclusivity and accessibility.

Thanks to a generous quarter of a million-dollar donation from the State of Arizona and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the programs at UCP of Central Arizona have been revamped, providing a supportive environment for individuals with cerebral palsy.
