Olympian Freddie Crittenden Celebrated by Phoenix Elementary School
After competing in the Men’s 110M Hurdles Final in Paris, Freddie Crittenden returned home to a heartwarming surprise from the students at Emerson Elementary in Phoenix.
Known for his work with the afterschool program G Road at the school, Crittenden was greeted by students wearing sport glasses similar to the ones he competes in. The kids cheered and chanted his name, showing their support for the Olympian.
Crittenden, who finished sixth in the world running a 13.32 race, described the moment as “beautiful” and “special.” He expressed his gratitude for the continuous support he receives from the students and staff at the school.
Despite his achievements on the track, Crittenden values his role in inspiring young minds, stating, “The kids have been a constant presence throughout my journey. It’s a beautiful moment to see them cheering me on after everything is said and done.”
Looking ahead, Crittenden is focused on his family, as he recently welcomed a baby girl and secured a sponsorship from Adidas. He has his sights set on the 2028 Olympics while continuing to mentor and encourage children to pursue their dreams.
