Are you seeing smoke in the East Valley? It may be coming from the Siphon Fire burning in the remote terrain of the Superstition Wilderness. The fire has already consumed 30-40 acres of land, and firefighting teams are working hard to contain it.

Currently, there are two engines and a Type 1 helicopter assigned to the fire to assist in the containment efforts. Residents of the East Valley are advised to avoid the First Water, Boulder, and Siphon Trails until the situation is under control.

Thankfully, there are no structures or individuals at risk, and no closures are in effect at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
