Tragedy struck near the Arizona/New Mexico border as a crash on westbound Interstate 10 at milepost 391 in San Simon, Arizona, resulted in the death of three individuals and serious injuries to two others. The incident involved a collision between a semi-truck and a car, causing a fiery aftermath that also left the condition of the semi-truck driver unknown.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported the crash, which occurred just 11 miles from the state line, prompting the closure of westbound lanes on I-10 in the area. Traffic from New Mexico was redirected to US Highway 70 to US 191, following a detour plan provided by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
