The Great ATM Heist in Chandler
A daring theft took place in broad daylight at a hotel lobby in downtown Chandler, Arizona, where an unidentified man brazenly walked in and stole an entire ATM machine. Police are now seeking the public’s assistance in finding this audacious perpetrator.
On August 15, police were alerted to the crime at the Crowne Plaza Resort on One North San Marcos Place. The suspect casually entered the hotel lobby with a dolly, unplugged the ATM, loaded it into a white Toyota Rav4, and drove off.
The culprit is described as a Black man in his 30s with distinct facial hair, seen wearing a gray jumpsuit and hoodie during the heist. Surveillance footage released by Silent Witness captures the daring act.
