Exclusive Look at Cardinals-Colts Joint Practices
Indiana sure is beautiful this time of the year. 12Sports had the opportunity to witness the joint practice between the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts in the picturesque setting of Westfield, Indiana. Surrounded by farm country, the teams came together for an intense training camp practice session, just 45 minutes north of downtown Indianapolis.
The Cardinals players were buzzing with excitement as they geared up for the joint practices with the Colts. For many of them, this week marked their first and only opportunity to hit someone other than their teammates before the regular season kicks off in Buffalo.
12Sports caught up with Cardinals tight end Trey McBride after the practice to get his insights on the experience of going head-to-head with another team. Check out the interview here.
During the practice sessions, the defensive backs had their struggles in one-on-one matchups against the Colts receivers, but they made up for it during team drills. On the offensive side, the connection between Kyler Murray and rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. was a sight to behold. All eyes were on the Cardinals’ first-round pick, who made his NFL debut in the same city where his Hall of Fame father played for 13 seasons.
After the practice, 12Sports had the chance to speak with Marvin Harrison Sr. and former Cardinals and Colts running back Edgerrin James. Watch those interviews and more clips from the practice session below:
12Sports also captured some standout moments from the joint practices, including impressive plays and player interviews. Watch the highlights below:
