After a series of negotiations, officials in Aurora have come to an agreement with the owner of the Aspen Grove apartment complex, Zev Baumgarten. The city has agreed to drop all charges against Baumgarten in exchange for the sale, lease, or a similar disposition of the property at 1568 Nome St.
Documents obtained under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) reveal that Nome Partners, the entity representing Baumgarten, will be assuming the responsibility of boarding up and securing the building. This arrangement comes as a resolution to numerous charges against Baumgarten for the property’s lack of maintenance.
As part of the agreement, Baumgarten has waived his right to a speedy trial, and Nome Partners LLC has committed to selling or leasing the property. Additionally, they will cover up to $60,000 in costs associated with cleaning up and securing the complex.
