Are you a teen between the ages of 14 and 17 looking to enhance your leadership skills and prepare for the future? The Boys and Girls Club of the Valley offers an exciting program just for you!
The Emerging Leaders program is dedicated to equipping teens with the necessary skills to excel in the workforce as they transition into adulthood. This innovative initiative was born out of a recognition of the community’s need by the club’s leaders.
“The Emerging Leader Program was created to provide teens, ages 14 to 17, with a tailored workforce development experience, mentorship, and guidance to kickstart their career journey,” explained Marcia Mintz, President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley.
The program has received positive feedback from both the organizers and the teens themselves. Participants have embraced valuable lessons in responsibility, patience, and problem-solving that they can apply both in their current roles and future endeavors.
Christian Astudillo, an Emerging Leader at the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley, shared, “From the Emerging Leaders Group, I’ve learned responsibility and patience, which are essential skills when working with children. Observing and resolving issues have also been key takeaways for me.”
Leaders at the club have also noted the progress and growth of the teens involved in the program. They commend the work ethic, dedication, and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the Emerging Leaders, such as Christian and Zeke.
