Phoenix Boy Scout Troop Reeling After Trailer Theft
Recently, a Phoenix Boy Scout troop experienced a devastating setback when their trailer was stolen. The troop, known as the Black Mountain Chapter of the Order of the Arrow, lost valuable supplies that they had collected over the years for their camping events and activities.
Blake Kite, the troop’s advisor, expressed his dismay at the loss, citing items like duct tape, pioneering poles, ropes, compasses, cast iron, and team-building games among the stolen goods. The estimated value of the contents inside the trailer was around $6,000.
One scout from the group, Domenic Kite, shared how shocked they all were to hear about the theft. He highlighted the emotional impact of the loss on the troop, emphasizing the value of the experiences associated with each item taken.
Despite the setback, Domenic Kite expressed optimism about finding solutions to rebuild their supplies and continue with their planned events. He stressed the importance of teamwork and community support in overcoming challenges.
While the trailer itself was insured, the troop has set up a GoFundMe page to help recover some of the costs associated with the stolen contents. They are hoping for the community’s support in replenishing their supplies and moving forward.
