Welcome to the Arizona Humane Society

Arizona is facing a pet problem, and the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is stepping up to help. With a projected 25% increase in pets needing homes from last year, AHS has announced the reopening of adoption and foster operations at their Sunnyslope Campus.

“What seemed unimaginable just six months ago when we moved into our new Rob & Melani Walton Papago Park Campus is now a necessity,” said Dr. Steven Hansen, President and CEO of AHS. “Our overcapacity challenges are persistent and chronic, and while we never intended to use the Sunnyslope Campus again, it is clear that this space is a vital resource for pets in our community who have nowhere else to go.”

Thanks to the support of PetSmart Charities and the Marge Wright Veterinary Clinic, AHS has been renovating and improving the Sunnyslope Campus to better accommodate the increase in pets needing care.

Beginning Wednesday, all three AHS campus locations will be open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. This initiative aims to find loving homes for as many pets as possible and alleviate the strain on shelters.

If you’re ready to welcome a furry friend into your home, consider adopting from AHS and making a difference in a pet’s life. Let’s work together to solve Arizona’s pet problem and provide a better future for all animals in need.
