Have you seen the eye-catching billboards popping up around the Phoenix metro? The Arizona Republican Party has launched a bold and unconventional campaign that is turning heads and sparking conversations.

The billboards feature a playful yet controversial message: “EAT LESS KITTENS. Vote Republican.” These billboards, adorned with kittens in cow costumes, bear a striking resemblance to Chick-fil-A’s iconic marketing style.

But what’s the story behind these attention-grabbing billboards? The Arizona GOP is responding to claims made by some Republicans that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are stealing people’s pets and consuming them. Despite the lack of concrete evidence supporting these allegations, the Arizona GOP has taken a creative approach to bring attention to the issue.

JD Vance, a prominent figure in the Republican party, raised concerns about Haitian immigrants in Ohio and their alleged involvement in pet theft. Similar sentiments were echoed by a press release from Donald Trump’s campaign, citing reports of migrants engaging in disturbing activities like decapitating ducks and hunting livestock.

Even Texas Sen. Ted Cruz joined the conversation, sharing a meme on social media urging people to vote for Trump to prevent Haitian immigrants from “eating us.”

However, city officials in Springfield have refuted these claims, stating that there is no credible evidence to support the allegations of pet theft and consumption by immigrants. Karen Graves, a spokesperson for the city, clarified that no verified instances of such activities have been reported.

Despite the controversy surrounding the billboards, they have certainly succeeded in generating buzz and stirring debate. The Chick-fil-A spokesperson has mentioned that the company did not authorize the use of their branding style for these billboards.
