If you’re heading out for Labor Day weekend, be prepared for delays along Interstate 17 southbound in Black Canyon City. A crash was reported Sunday afternoon, causing several miles of slowed traffic in both directions, according to authorities.

The Arizona Department of Transportation reported that the right lane of I-17 southbound in New River is blocked at milepost 232 due to the crash. Emergency responders from Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical are on their way to the scene, but they noted that the crash location is actually at milepost 239, north of Black Canyon City.

As a result of the crash, traffic is moving slowly for several miles in both directions, ADOT stated. Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for when the lane will reopen.
