America Ferrera Encourages Latino Voting in Arizona
If you have not yet registered to vote, the deadline is approaching fast – Oct. 7th is the last day to do so. In light of this critical deadline, actress America Ferrera made a visit to Peoria, Arizona to emphasize the importance of voting in the Latino community.
Known for her roles in films like “Barbie” and “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” Ferrera’s presence sparked a conversation about the significant impact Latino voters can have in this year’s election. In Arizona, Latino voters make up 32% of the voting population, highlighting the immense influence they hold in shaping the future.
The luncheon, hosted by the non-profit organization Poderistas, was an opportunity for Ferrera to lead a discussion on the power of the Latino vote. With Election Day fast approaching, organizers stressed the critical need to mobilize Latino voters and make their voices heard.
“We’re nonpartisan, but we believe that there are a lot of issues on the ballot this year that are about humanity, about us as women, that we really need to put our voice in and give our opinions, and the ballot is one of the most important and strongest ways to do that,” said Charlotte Castillo, the managing director for Poderistas.
Joining Ferrera were other influential panelists, including actress/producer Angelique Cabral, Stephanie Maldonado with LUCHA, Viridiana Hernandez with Poder In Action, and Vianey Olivarria with Chispa/League of Conservation Voters.
With less than 40 days left until Election Day, the time to register and make your voice heard is now. Don’t miss the chance to have a say in shaping the future of our nation.
