Welcome to National Public Lands Day!
Celebrate the beauty of our public lands this weekend by visiting a National Park for free in honor of National Public Lands Day! This annual event, established in 1994, is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort, organized by the National Parks Service.
On September 28, all national parks that typically charge an admission fee will offer free entry, including renowned parks like the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Last year, over 130 national parks hosted events with 7,600 volunteers dedicating 41,500 hours of service.
This Saturday marks one of the last free admission days for National Parks in 2024, so take advantage of this opportunity to explore the great outdoors. For more information and to plan your visit, check out the National Park Service website.
