Tragic Crash in North Phoenix Claims Two Lives
It was a tragic Saturday morning in north Phoenix as a deadly crash unfolded at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Bell Road. Here’s a recap of what we know so far.
According to Phoenix police, the collision resulted in two fatalities. Police responded to the scene at around 9:25 a.m. where they discovered two cars had collided, leaving three individuals injured.
Among the victims were 85-year-old Fouad Shawo, the driver, and 85-year-old Virginia Nathan, the passenger, both of whom succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital. The other driver, an adult, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Initial reports indicate that Shawo and Nathan’s vehicle was traveling west on Bell Road when it attempted a left turn onto 15th Avenue, only to be struck by the eastbound vehicle on Bell Road. The investigation is still ongoing, with no charges pending until its completion.
