Walgreens Announces Holiday Plans for 2023
As the holiday season approaches, Walgreens is already making preparations for the festivities. In an unprecedented move, the retailer announced that it will be closing most of its stores on Thanksgiving Day for the first time in 2023.
On Monday, Walgreens revealed its plans for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The company stated that most of its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 28. However, 24-hour Walgreens locations will remain open to meet the healthcare needs of patients.
Walgreens confirmed that their stores will maintain regular business hours on Wednesday, November 27, and Friday, November 29. Additionally, the company intends to open its stores on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
“Last year, Walgreens made the decision to close most of its stores on Thanksgiving Day to show appreciation for the hard work of its team members nationwide and allow them to spend the day with loved ones,” the company stated in a press release. “This year, Walgreens will continue to express gratitude to its dedicated employees by closing most of its stores on Thanksgiving Day.”
