Phoenix House Fire Leaves Man in Critical Condition, Dog Dead
The house fire was reported on Sunday afternoon near Coronado Road and 17th Street, the fire department says.
PHOENIX — A man is in critical condition and a dog is dead following a central Phoenix house fire, the city’s fire department said.
Phoenix fire said they received reports of a fire coming from the backyard of a home near Coronado Road and 17th Street around 1 p.m. on Sunday.
One elderly man was found by firefighters inside the home and was immediately taken outside.
The man was treated and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A second adult was treated for smoke inhalation, Phoenix fire said. That person was in stable condition and was not taken to the hospital.
One dog was found dead inside the house. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
