Empowering Hispanic Entrepreneurs with “Juntos Crecemos” Program
PHOENIX — The PepsiCo West Division is teaming up with the Arizona Diamondbacks through the “Juntos Crecemos” platform to give back and support several small Hispanic businesses in the Phoenix area.
As part of the initiative, the family-owned restaurant, Mariscos Playa Hermosa, received a $10,000 check from baseball legend Luis “Gonzo” González and Pepsi.
To support this restaurant and celebrate the Hispanic community in Phoenix, PepsiCo and the Diamondbacks picked up the tab for the diners gathered there on Tuesday.
During the event, there was a free lunch, giveaways, D-backs autographed items, and more for an hour.
Mariscos Playa Hermosa, owned by the Maldonado family, is a Mexican seafood restaurant located in downtown Phoenix, known for its delicious cuisine.
Founded in 2002 by José and María Maldonado, the restaurant quickly became a local favorite. Their children, Emmanuell and Yesica, have since joined them in running the restaurant, focusing on the overall customer experience.
PepsiCo’s “Juntos Crecemos” platform is part of a $50 million commitment to provide short and long-term support to Hispanic small businesses, including restaurants, businesses, and butchers, over five years.
Support for these local businesses includes mentoring, personalized marketing support, and access to capital and operational assistance for immediate and lasting improvements.
