Shocking Incident in Chandler, Arizona

Roberto Pacheco, a 53-year-old man from Chandler, is facing charges of animal abuse after a disturbing incident where he was caught on video throwing his pet off a balcony to elicit a reaction from his wife.

The incident occurred around 9:30 am on Monday when Pacheco filmed himself taking their pet poodle from the doghouse, grabbing it by the neck, and tossing it into a large bush from the first-floor balcony.

Pacheco was arrested about 30 minutes later and during interrogation, he admitted to police that he filmed himself throwing the dog and sent the video to his wife to gauge her reaction. There was no evidence of him being under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

As part of his release conditions, Pacheco is prohibited from owning pets or having any contact with animals, regardless of ownership.

Authorities have not disclosed the condition of the poodle after the incident.
