Exchange Your Old Car Seat for a 20% Discount on Baby Items at Target
If you have an old car seat lying around, now is the perfect time to get rid of it and save some money on baby essentials. Target’s popular car seat exchange event is back for fall 2024, offering customers a 20% discount on new car seats or selected baby items in exchange for their old car seats or bases.
The event kicks off on Sunday, September 15th, and runs through Saturday, September 28th. To participate, simply drop off your old car seat at a designated box inside a Target store, scan a QR code, and receive your Target Circle voucher for the 20% discount.
Customers have until October 12th to redeem their discount, which can be used twice according to Target’s website. The materials from the old car seats are recycled to create industrial pallets, plastic buckets, steel beams, and carpet padding.
This biannual event is part of Target’s goal to achieve zero waste in landfills by 2030. Since its inception in 2016, over three million car seats and 45 million pounds of car seat materials have been recycled through the program.
Special bins will be placed near the customer service area at participating Target stores for customers to drop off unwanted car seats. Customers can scan the posters near the bins to redeem their coupons.
While most Target stores participate in the recycling event, it is advisable to check with your local store for more information. Target accepts all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, booster seats, and expired or damaged car seats.
