Welcome to our blog post where we discuss the recent blackout of Disney Entertainment channels on DirecTV. ESPN and other Disney-owned channels went dark on Sunday night after failed negotiations between Disney and DirecTV.
Are you a DirecTV customer missing out on your favorite Disney shows? Don’t worry, you may be eligible for a credit from the cable provider. According to CNN, DirecTV is offering at least a $20 credit to affected customers with DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and U-Verse services.
To apply for the credit, customers can visit https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/ and enter their service and zip code. If eligible, the credit will appear on a future bill within two billing cycles.
While negotiations continue, DirecTV assures customers that they are working to offer more flexible channel lineups and all your favorite shows and sports in one place.
This blackout comes at a crucial time, coinciding with the U.S. Open tennis tournament. ESPN was showcasing the fourth round of the tournament when it went off the air on DirecTV. Additionally, ABC affiliate news stations in key markets like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles were also removed from DirecTV’s lineup.
Approximately 11 million subscribers on DirecTV are affected by this channel outage. Rest assured, DirecTV is actively seeking a resolution and offering bill credits to affected customers until the situation is resolved.
Stay tuned for updates on the negotiations between Disney and DirecTV. In the meantime, enjoy other programming options and make sure to take advantage of the credit offer if you qualify.
