Welcome to Friday Night Fever – Week 1 Recap!
The excitement of high school football is back in Arizona with the start of the 35th season of Friday Night Fever on 12News! The gridiron action kicked off with a bang in Week 1, and we’re here to bring you all the highlights.
Despite the scorching temperatures outside, football fans across the state are embracing the start of fall and the high school football season. Friday Night Fever, Arizona’s longest-running high school football show, is back for another thrilling season, celebrating its 35th year on air.
Week 1 of Friday Night Fever featured some intense matchups, starting with our Game of the Week between Liberty and Desert Edge. Liberty, the reigning Open Division champions, secured a solid 22-0 victory over Desert Edge, setting the tone for the season ahead.

Brophy Prep at Williams Field

Cesar Chavez at Chandler

Red Mountain at Mesa and Shadow Ridge at Highland
Red Mountain Mountain Lions outplayed Mesa Jackrabbits with a 42-10 victory, while Highland Hawks started their season with a commanding 35-0 win over Shadow Ridge Stallions. Watch the highlights of both games here.
Fever Flyover: Sunrise Mountain at Queen Creek, Millard South (Omaha, Nebraska) at Basha and Desert Ridge at Perry
