Welcome to the Grand Reopening of Food City in Avondale!
Avondale’s favorite supermarket, Food City, has undergone a complete makeover after 24 years of serving the community. To celebrate this exciting transformation, the first 200 customers who visit the store on Wednesday, September 4th (doors open at 6 a.m.) will receive a reusable Food City tote bag filled with assorted products with their purchase.
At 8 a.m., join the Avondale city leaders and Food City executives for the grand reopening ceremony. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special presentations by the students of Agua Fría High School to kick off the festivities.
From 8 a.m. to noon, customers can enjoy free food samples throughout the store. Don’t miss the Food City prize wheel, offering the chance to win gift cards or Food City products.
Additionally, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., there will be live mariachi music for customers to enjoy as they shop.
Food City aims to provide customers with a new and improved shopping experience, featuring renovated departments such as the produce, meat, bakery, floral, and prepared food sections with a variety of delicious options to dine in or take home.
Local residents can also choose to order their groceries from Food City online for pickup or delivery by visiting www.myfoodcity.com.

- 6:00 a.m. – Food City opens with 200 free reusable tote bags.
