Arizona residents, especially those with low incomes, have a reason to celebrate as the state launches a new program aimed at helping them upgrade their air conditioning units. The rebate program is part of the state’s efforts to promote clean energy and reduce utility bills.

The Efficiency Arizona program, initiated by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency, will provide rebates to eligible residents who upgrade their AC units. These upgrades will include installing AC pumps to improve efficiency and lower energy consumption.

To qualify for the rebates, residents must meet certain income requirements. Homeowners can receive up to $14,000 in rebates for completing energy-efficient upgrades to their AC units.

Maren Mahoney, director of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency, expressed excitement about the program, calling it a “game-changer for Arizona.” She highlighted the financial relief the rebates would provide and emphasized the program’s contribution to the state’s environmental sustainability goals.

The funding for Arizona’s program comes from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Rebates programs, showcasing a collaborative effort to promote energy efficiency and conservation.
