Waymo, a Google-based company, has officially announced that passengers can now be picked up and dropped off curbside at terminals three and four at any time of the day. This milestone makes Sky Harbor the first airport in the country to offer 24/7 autonomous curbside service.
Prior to this update, passengers could only utilize Waymo services from the 24th or 44th Street SkyTrain stations or during late-night hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. But now, the possibilities are endless with Waymo’s expanded offerings at the airport.
To celebrate this innovative achievement, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego took her first-ever Waymo ride to the airport and shared her experience on social media. She highlighted the continuous efforts of Sky Harbor and Waymo to enhance travel options for passengers, encouraging everyone to try out the new service.
Waymo also took to Twitter to announce the exciting news, emphasizing the convenience of 24/7 curbside pickups and drop-offs at Phoenix Sky Harbor. With over 100,000 airport trips served to date, Waymo continues to revolutionize transportation in the city.
