Mirko Marweg, known as his family’s “Mr. Fix-It” and a kind-hearted man, tragically lost his life in an accident at Delta’s TechOps Tire and Maintenance facility near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The 58-year-old, who served in the Air Force and previously worked for MARTA, was described as someone who always lent a helping hand.

Marweg’s son, Andre Coleman, shared his shock and disbelief at the sudden loss of his father, whom he saw as an amazing guy, father, and husband. The family received the devastating news that Marweg and his coworker, Luis Aldarondo, had been killed in the accident, while another coworker was seriously injured.

The details of the accident, involving wheel components being disassembled for maintenance, remain under investigation. Witnesses reported a tire explosion that led to the tragic incident, leaving Marweg’s family and loved ones grappling with the loss.

Determined to honor his father’s legacy, Coleman vowed to keep Marweg’s memory alive by cherishing the moments they shared, such as working on his motorcycle just days before the accident. Delta expressed its condolences and support for the affected families, affirming their commitment to safety and well-being.

As Marweg’s family mourns their beloved patriarch, they seek comfort in the enduring legacy of his kindness and generosity. His memory will forever live on in their hearts.

For anyone seeking support in times of loss, resources are available to provide assistance and guidance. Remember, you are not alone, and help is just a phone call away.
