Recent Monsoon Storms Bring Much-Needed Rainfall to Phoenix Metro
As the monsoon season winds down in Phoenix, Thursday’s storms made sure to leave a mark by bringing a good amount of measurable rainfall to the Phoenix Metro area.
According to Maricopa County’s rainfall data, the majority of the rainfall was concentrated in Phoenix, extending into Scottsdale, and parts of Apache Junction also received some rainfall.
Here is a breakdown of the recent rainfall totals in the Valley:
- Desert Botanical Garden: 0.75″
- Granite Reef Wash: 0.67″
- ASU South: 0.43″
- South Mountain Park Headquarters: 0.12″
- Downtown Phoenix: 0.04″
- Camelback Mountain East: 0.43″
- Paradise Valley Country Club: 0.23″
- Dreamy Draw Dam: 0.08″
- McCormick Ranch: 0.43″
- Aztec Park: 0.59″
- Lost Dog Wash: 0.16″
- Apache Junction: 0.20″
Despite the potential for damaging winds and flash flooding, the intensity of the storms is beginning to decrease as they move out of the region. However, caution is advised as hazards could still be present.
