Meet Our Champion of the Week: Elliott Weir

Are you ready to meet an extraordinary individual who is making a difference in our community? 12News and Barry Farrah, Owner of Champion Air, present to you our Champion of the Week!

Today, we shine the spotlight on 17-year-old Elliott Weir, a remarkable young man who embodies the qualities of a true champion. Despite constantly moving with his military family, Elliott has managed to make a significant impact on the youth community.

Barry Farrah was astounded by Elliott’s accomplishments, stating, “I actually called Rachel and said no way this guy is 17.” With a long list of achievements that rival a lifetime of success, Elliott has proven himself to be a standout individual.

From being recognized as the Phoenix Outstanding Youth Leader of the Year District Finalist for three consecutive years to graduating Summa Cum Laude from Bioscience High School, Elliott has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to excellence.

To honor his outstanding achievements, Farrah presented Elliott with a youth excellence medal, a youth champion of excellence award, and a $600 prize. His parents are incredibly proud of his unwavering focus and leadership qualities, especially considering the challenges of being a military child.

Elliott’s commitment to giving back to the community is evident in his initiatives, such as creating an inaugural Small School Sports tournament to provide opportunities for neglected athletes and completing 200 hours of internship at the Maryvale Community Center.

Throughout his high school years, Elliott also found time to work as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a City of Phoenix pool and create a video to support military families.

Join us in celebrating the achievements of this exceptional young man who serves as an inspiration to us all. Download the 12News app for more local news and stories, and don’t forget to subscribe to the 12News YouTube channel for the latest updates.
