In a tragic incident in Scottsdale, Arizona, a woman lost her life after being shot by her husband, as confirmed by the city’s police department to 12News.
Scottsdale Police identified the suspect of the shooting as David Zhu.
Arizona State University has verified that Zhu is a professor at the university.
A profile on ASU’s website indicates that he works in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the WP Carey Business School.
“Our condolences to all those affected by this tragedy,” ASU stated in a release following the shooting.
Police responded to a residence for reported gunfire near 136th Street and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale on Saturday night.
Upon arrival at the scene, the authorities found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
A second woman and a child were also present in the house at the time of the shooting, as per the police report.
The victim’s name has not been disclosed.
Zhu was apprehended at the residence by law enforcement officers.
