The extreme heat warning is in effect starting this morning at 10 a.m. and will last until Tuesday at 8 p.m. Be prepared for temperatures reaching up to 114 degrees in Phoenix. The record high is 115 degrees, so we are definitely flirting with breaking that heat record.
On Wednesday, monsoonal moisture will start to develop, leading to storms in the plateau areas. Phoenix will have a 20% chance of isolated showers, while higher elevations will see a 70% coverage.
