Former St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center Employee Speaks Out
A former employee at St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center recently came forward with shocking revelations about the facility, threatening to report them to the state Department of Health.
The facility had been facing challenges, with patients not allowed back inside due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system. The employee, Cassandra Bizon, shed light on the inadequate supply of basic essentials for residents.
Bizon, who worked at St. Luke’s for four years, was terminated in April after raising concerns about the facility’s conditions. She mentioned instances where employees had to bring in their own supplies, such as cups and snacks, due to shortages.
She even expressed the need to threaten to report the facility to the Department of Health before essential supplies were replenished. Another anonymous employee supported her claims, stating that the air conditioning issue was not a surprise and that employees were left working in uncomfortable temperatures.
Steward Health Care, the parent company of St. Luke’s, recently filed for bankruptcy, adding complexity to the situation. The company is under federal investigation, and Arizona’s Attorney General has initiated a probe into the bankruptcy.
In response, Steward Health Care mentioned that all patients had been relocated, and employees had the option to work elsewhere. They assured that supply issues occurred before the bankruptcy filing and had been resolved. The company aims to fix the HVAC system promptly.
