Tragic Fatal Crash in Central Phoenix

A fatal crash was reported near 12th Street and Indian School Road in central Phoenix, involving a semi-truck.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene, where firefighters discovered a collision between a truck and multiple vehicles. Sadly, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, with no other injuries reported.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Exploring Phoenix’s Valley

“The Valley” refers to the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, the largest metropolitan area in the Southwest. It comprises several major cities, including Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Tempe, Glendale, Surprise, Peoria, Gilbert, El Mirage, Avondale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, and Buckeye.

These cities have a combined population of 4,845,832, making the Phoenix Metropolitan Area the 11th largest in the United States. Maricopa County, where these cities are located, is the 4th largest county in the country by population, with 4,485,414 residents.

Spanning 9,224 square miles, Maricopa County is larger than seven U.S. states. It is home to a diverse range of landscapes, including a vast park system with approximately 120,000 acres of open space parks, trails, nature centers, and campgrounds.

Phoenix, the county seat and state capital, is the 5th most populous city in the U.S. Named after the Maricopa Native American Tribe, the county is rich in history and natural beauty.
